Being a lover of all things sparkly and bling, Erickson Beamon has always been a brand that has fascinated me.
It was a the ‘go-to’ label I would always visit when prepping for big shoots that I wanted to bring that extra something to. It was during such a prep that I discovered something I had never known before. I learned that Erickson Beamon was all made in-house. This intrigued me. As I was shown the inner workings of the basement workshop/studio I became inspired to write this post.
Erickson Beamon have been going for nearly 30 years and first started out in New York where they still have a studio and showroom headed by Karen Erickson with Vicki Beamon heading the London base.
They have long since collaborated with designers to make their catwalk shows more dramatic. Fashion houses like Dries Van Noten, Donna Karan, John Galliano, Zac Posen, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret, Temperley, Erdem, Maria Grachvogel, Osman and many more have all benefitted from the Erickson Beamon sparkle which has added lux to every outfit it is teamed with.

The studio is full of components, chains of every variety, crystals of various sizes and in a myriad of colours.
A team of highly skilled craftsmen and women enthusiastically beaver away polishing, soldering, assembling and setting stones to create the collection designed by Karen and Vicki.
I am reminded of the Shoemaker’s Elves when I see the work in motion. There is a relaxed atmosphere in the studio and camaraderie among the staff each one evoking a sense of pride in their given roles.
