Afro-Lux Cushions by Samson Soboye
The Africa @SOBOYE event has inspired a new collection of cushions from Samson Soboye.
The new pieces are elaborate yet quirky and fuses Samson’s love of colour and embellishment with ‘African print’ Ankara.
Pattern and colour are the key elements in this collection with glass beading adding Lux in true Samson Soboye style to the Ankara fabric.
Multi-coloured hand-dyed mini pom-poms bring a sense of fun to individual pieces in the collection whilst the cushions are enhanced with the texture added by the beading.
This design was inspired by the Air Mail envelopes of a by gone age…
The Chevron beaded design on this print brings some straight line graphic chic to an otherwise circular pattern.
The square cushions range in from sizes fro 16x16”(40cm2) to 20x20”(50cm2), whilst the rectangle ones measures 16x12”(40x30cm). They are all backed with a complementary coloured cotton and feature ‘invisible’ zips.
